I was born in Oregon. My husband and I visited Manzanita 2 years ago right before Covid hit. We got lucky and were able to get a room right on the Beach here! It was so very relaxing! We got us a yummy Hot Italian Pizza after a walk on the beach. This is our favorite place to visit anymore when we come to Oregon. We are planning another visit for 2023.

Grew up and lived there, in its little suburb of Neah-Kah-Nie, on the cliffs overlooking the north cove. Quite a view from several hundred feet up.

Two men who would become world famous authors , within 18 months of each other,
‘lived in that hamlet (pop. 90) in the 60’s, one as a summer and weekend visitor.

The town will become famous sometime in the next two years.

And that is all the clue you are getting.

In reply to Andi. Those sunny days in Oregon are made even more wonderful by their rarity. Although we tend to have really good luck with the weather on the Oregon Coast. But no matter what the forecast, Manzanita, OR is worth a stop!

In reply to Meghan Emcee. Oregon's saltwater taffy is different from those in other places, like New Jersey. It's almost worth a visit to the Oregon Coast just for the taffy!

During our 5 weeks on the Oregon coast we stopped and hiked on the beach near Manzanita and one of those rare sunny afternoons and it was glorious! I love this region of Oregon!
