Have you always lived in Austin, or did you move there at some point? I’m curious to hear what made you fall in love with the city.

June 12, 2024 We just got back from two travel days and four actual experience days in Boston. It was a really friendly city–but we didn’t have a car to experience the aggravation of other drivers. Drivers honk continually. Stop lights/signs are suggested, but not obeyed, roads are very beaten up, and parking??? But we had a great time using our $22.50/7 day Charlie Cards on BMTA. We used all five modes of travel; bus, trolley train, subway, commuter train and water taxi. The Charlie Card was a real bargain!! The weather was lovely with 75-85 degree days in the last week of May. We walked the Freedom Trail, went aboard Old Ironsides, toured the magnificent Boston Fine Arts Museum, and enjoyed my first lox on a seeded bagel in Boston Common! We also took a day trip to Plymouth and really enjoyed the Plimoth Patuxet Museum. Beware, the local bus runs early morning and late afternoon to the Kingston Station–don’t get abandoned there.

That’s when I found the awful reviews saying everyone “wins” this raffle, as you find out when you arrive to a room full of other “winners”, now trapped in a timeshare presentation. Reviews said the “90 min tour” turned into a 4 hour near hostage situation, with threats that the sales people would not refund the $100. One review said the salesman shouted in her face when she insisted she was done and not buying, and implied she was a moocher for wanting the free stay she was promised.

The location and resort were so much fun, there is no reason they should have to use cult tactics like this and fake “contests”…unless the timeshare deal is so awful a financial decision, so lucrative to a greedy owner, it’s legal theft. So disappointed in this resort. My husband doesn’t even want to go skiing there again. 😔

I am an eastcoaster native …and yes it has that “feel” , so glad it became my home.
